While the improvement in Overall Fitness Scores (3 columns on
right) are listed in numerical rating, all of the above results are impressive.
Maximum possible points on the Army Physical Fitness Scale are 300.
"A" 's improvement from 72 points to 185 points (total change of
113 points) and "G" 's improvement from 258 points to an almost perfect score of
285 points (total change of 27 points) are equally outstanding. How the Army Physical Fitness Test Works: Each participant is tested
in the following categories: Number of push ups completed in two minutes, number of
sit ups completed in two minutes, and length of time taken to complete a two mile run.
The raw numbers are then assigned points based on age and gender. These
points are combined to arrive at an overall fitness score. For
